Dr. A. John McKissock, DMD
Dr. McKissock is a Board Certified Endodontist, a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and is currently the Endodontic Instructor for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Fort Carson. He is a Brown University graduate and former Army Scout Helicopter Pilot for the 1st Infantry Division and Multinational Force Observers in Egypt.
In 2002 he earned a DMD degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry where he was on the Dean’s List and earned several patient care awards as well as the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society Ethics Award. In 2002 he returned to Active Duty and graduated from the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Fort Sill, OK.
Dr. McKissock received his endodontic training from the US Army Endodontic Program at Fort Bragg, NC. He has guest lectured for the Canadian Forces Dental Command as well as the US Air Force Academy Residency, has presented research at a national conference and lectured to numerous local dental societies, conferences and meetings. His passion for teaching demands he stay current on the latest technologies and techniques, especially within pain management. He is also a published author.
He will be retiring from military service in August of this year and is excited to join Dr. Transtrum and the rest of the team at Aspen Endodontics on a full-time basis. Dr. McKissock married his college sweetheart and has three boys, ages 19, 18 and 14. If he’s not hiking or JEEPing one of Colorado’s trails, he’s likely playing tennis or snowboarding.
